Spring Break 2022 Ideas

I’m delighted to share a few ideas with you! I looked to find locations where Rex would have a blast, and would offer a bit of respite for you and Conor. Let me know what you like, and what you’d like to see…and we’ll work to dial it in. I used April 2 – April 9 as the week for quoting, we’ll requote to actual week that works best for you.

Texas Road Trip: Elmo and the Beach

Road trip…but just two locations. This trip starts in San Antonio at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. This is a family friendly resort with a small water park, complimentary bikes, and nightly s’mores by the fire. It is located right next to SeaWorld which features a Sesame Street play area – which is Billhardt Boy approved for those who love Elmo.

Price for 3 nights at resort (SeaWorld not included) – $1036.43

Then it’s off to the beach for four nights. The quote here is for a 2 bedroom / 2 bath beachfront / beachview condo with a pool on Port Aransas. I did not confirm availability, but there is reasonable inventory if the beach is appealing. See button below for pics.

Price for 4 nights in Port A condo – $1675.09.

Total for TX week: $2711.52

Sonoma, California

The Napa valley area can be surprisingly kid friendly. Sonoma has a beautiful little amusement park called TrainTown that our boys LOVED when they were Rex’s age. It features a 20 min train ride, a carousel, and a airplane ride. There’s no entry or parking fee, instead there are tickets for each ride. This means you can swing by for a bit every day.

There’s also the Jelly Belly factory nearby(ish) which is fun and interesting for kids of all ages. The Napa Valley Wine Train calls itself family friendly as well.

More wineries are catering to families with open outdoor areas for running.

I have you staying at the Lodge at Sonoma Resort (a Marriott Autograph property) which is right across the street from TrainTown, and a ~ mile from Sonoma Square.

Pricing includes RT air for three out of SFO, the hotel for a week, a rental car and travel insurance. Prices not locked until confirmed with a deposit.

Package price: $5417.23

Club Med – Sandpiper

Club Med Sandpiper near West Palm Beach, Florida, consistently shows up on lists for top family resorts. It is an all-inclusive, and one of the very few places that has a kids club environment for 2-3 year olds, giving you and Conor a chance to have some downtime while Rex is entertained.

All-inclusive includes meals, water and land sports, entertainment as well as tips and tax. The quote I’ve prepared includes Petite Club Med which is the kids club for littles (the site notes it is closed on Wednesdays) plus flights and transfers to/from Palm Beach International. This was priced as a consumer, so it may be improved…and like all quotes, subject to change until booked with a deposit.

Package price: $4759.46
