Elevating the Journey: Why New Credentials Mean a Better Trip for You

I am thrilled to share some news that marks a milestone in my commitment to your travel experiences. I have recently earned two prestigious designations in the industry: Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisor (VCTA) and Tauck Certified Advisor.

These are not just titles on a business card. They are backstage passes to a level of travel that most people never see. In an era where travel is more complex than ever, these credentials ensure that when you book with me, you are getting an advocate with global clout.

The Virtuoso Advantage: A Six-Month Deep Dive

Becoming a Virtuoso Certified Travel Advisor was a lift. The program spanned six months, beginning with an intensive in-person training in Arizona with Virtuoso leaders. Following that initial immersion, I completed months of rigorous homework and regular check-ins designed to master the entire lifecycle of the collaborative travel planning process.

  • How this helps you: It was whispered to me at a gathering of advisors when I was wondering if it was worth it to invest in VCTA: “The whatsapp group is epic.” And it is. VCTA grads are some of the most high performing in the industry. When I ask a question about this or that property or operator, the intelligence is of excellent quality. I have an inside track that is not printed in any brochure.
  • VIP Amenities: This certification deepens my appreciation for the classic upgrades, daily breakfast credits, and exclusive resort perks that are not available to the general public.

Pioneering the Future with ROAM by Tauck

I am also incredibly proud to be one of fewer than 60 advisors in the world to graduate from the Tauck Academy specifically focused on their exciting new brand: ROAM by Tauck.

  • What is ROAM? This is escorted luxury group travel designed for younger, active travelers. I think of it as like a Backroads trip, without all the biking. It is SPECIFICALLY for travelers in their 40s and 50s. Think smaller groups averaging just 16 guests and a “half-on, half-off” philosophy that balances curated Tauck moments with the freedom to explore on your own.
  • How this helps you: As a Certified Advisor, I hear about new product openings before they are made available to the general public. And for new Tauck guests, I am able to bring in a complimentary pre or post hotel night on any Tauck journey (these are excellent hotels and often a $1k/more value.)

These trips are special. Here’s a taste of what is available in late 2026 and 2027. Reach out to learn more! And I will be going on one of these trips (it’s a requirement of keeping my certification!)  Let’s connect if we can align plans.

Mexico City & San Miguel de Allande – both great places, not so easy to get from one to another so having these cities in one itinerary is fantastic. Love the Michelin starred taco stand, ebiking, hot air balloon ride and included spa treatments.

Porto & The Douro Valley – River cruising can be sedate. But most everyone one on this river cruise will be in their 40s and 50s so expect a high energy level. I like the winery visits, hiking, cocktail reception, yoga class in the vineyards, and choice of kayaks, biking – or more wine tasting.

Bordeaux & the Dordogne – This one starts with a stay in a former wine cellar in Bordeaux with time in Cap Ferret, and then you’re off to four nights at Le Moulin du Roc for fabulous meals, countryside biking, and an evening at the Michelin-starred Les Glycines.

San Sebastian & Rioja – Highlights here are the pinxto bar tour, exploring beautiful little towns, cycling through vineyards and a journey to Anana Salt Valley.

And coming soon are Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto & the Seto inland sea), New Zealand, South Africa & Mozambique, Florence & the Tuscan Hills and more.
