Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Specialist
An Amalfi Coast crewed yacht charter is best suited to travelers who want privacy, flexible days, personalized service, and direct access to Capri, Positano, Amalfi, and the quieter anchorages between them. The coastline is compact enough to combine swimming, dining ashore, and town visits without spending half the week making long open-water crossings.
The expensive mistake is not choosing the wrong restaurant or missing one coastal town. It is booking a yacht that looks right online but has the wrong cabin layout, crew, amenities, cruising style, or route for how your group actually wants to travel.

I recently had the experience of my daughter’s high school graduation trip to Croatia planned by Rachel Baumgartner. It was amazing!! We had another family along with us and Rachel took so much time learning what was important to us, researching extensively the best fit for us regarding hotels, transfers, restaurants, excursions and more! The entire trip was seamless!! And during the trip she checked in on us and was quick to respond with any questions we had. I highly recommend Rachel and Rosedale Travel!!!Posted on Google![]()

Laura Spagnolo recently (fall 2025) planned an absolutely unforgettable group trip to Argentina. I travel frequently and this is the first trip I did not have to do or think about a single piece of the itinerary. I took my 12 yr old son, along with a few other families, on a planned group trip to Buenos Aires and iguazu falls. Starting with the preparation for the visit and Everything from city excursions, to soccer matches and stadium tours, to art centers, dinners out, fantastic hotels, experiencing the falls, and the ease with transfers and domestic flights ...it could NOT have been better. I will not plan trips without Rosedale travel from now on!! Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

Rosedale travel was able to hook me up with a last minute excellent trip to Iceland. Kirsten worked with me to make sure everything we wanted to do got done, and even suggested some things I’d never heard of which I'm glad we did! I’ll be using Rosedale travel again in the near future!Posted on Google![]()

Five stars aren't enough for Rachel! She delivered the most amazing and stress-free adventure for our son's 30th birthday trip to Moab! She helped with flights and booked a fantastic place to stay, but the lineup of incredible adventures she put together was the highlight. Our adventure loving son had a blast! Before we left, a physical folder with all our documents was delivered, and every detail was also available on a convenient app. Rachel was available for all our questions during planning and checked in with us during and after our trip! I will be using her services again and recommending her to everyone I know.Posted on Google![]()

Not only is Rachel Baumgartner the best travel advisor I've ever had the pleasure of working with, but she is also one of the best individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. From start to finish, there is not a single thing she missed. She went above and beyond on everything possible and exceeded my expectations. She helped me plan my bachelorette, my fiance's bachelor party, and our honeymoon. I cannot recommend Rachel enough to anyone looking to plan travel. I am forever grateful to her for helping me to plan the trip of my dreams!Posted on Google![]()

Kirsten at Rosedale planned our family trip to Greece. It was our first time using a travel agent but definitely won't be our last! Kirsten made the trip to easy and stress free! She listened to all our "wants" and built the perfect vacation for our family of 5. The excursions she booked were amazing - both were great companies to explore Greece with and we learned so much from our guides. The hotels and resorts she booked for us were beautiful properites and the extra perks (like welcome baskets and food vouchers) that we got from booking with Kirsten were a wonderful bonus! Don't hesitate to use Kirsten to design your next vacation - you will be so glad you did!Posted on Google![]()

Kirstin was amazing! My sister and I had 17 tabs open trying to figure out connecting flights and/or trains in Europe to no avail! I reached out to her for the first time hoping that she could somehow solve this mystery and she did just that! She made it all work seamlessly. Going forward, I will never NOT travel without first consulting her. She had tips, ideas, suggestions, and solutions! She was easy to communicate with, affable, responsive to our desires and vision and followed through on everything she said. She asked for feedback afterwards, and I shared the one thing I wished had happened. I wish we had gotten the itinerary in paper prior to departure. She and I miscommunicated about that as I had handled all stateside flights prior to international flights so she didn't know our actual date of departure. Highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

KIrsten Billhardt of Rosedale Travel did a fabulous job of planning and organizing our first trip to Scandinavia; she even figured out a way to work in a side trip to northern Germany within a 11-day (including flights) timeframe! It's been five months since we went, and we're still raving about the variety of experiences including outdoor excursions, city explorations, historical site and special attraction visits, different transportation modes, and delicious food (we loved the huge hotel breakfast buffets). We highly recommend working with Kirsten!Posted on Google![]()

Rosedale knows the secret sauce of memorable travel.
As your Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Specialist, Rosedale Travel helps you make the decisions that shape the entire week:
- Whether to choose a round-trip charter from Naples or Salerno
- Whether a one-way route is worth the additional cost and logistics
- How to balance Capri and Positano with quieter stops such as Nerano, Li Galli, Praiano, and Ieranto Bay
- Which crew and cabin arrangement will work for your group
- How much to budget beyond the advertised charter fee
- Whether a motor yacht, sailing yacht, or catamaran better fits your pace
The goal is not to place every client on an Amalfi Coast yacht. It is to determine whether this destination and style of charter genuinely fit what your group wants from the week.
Schedule a consultation to compare Amalfi Coast yacht options and determine whether a round-trip or one-way itinerary fits your group.
Why Work With Rosedale Travel for an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter?
Two motor yachts with similar weekly rates can produce completely different vacations.
One may have a captain who understands how early to approach Li Galli, which anchorages around Nerano become crowded by midday, and when conditions make a planned stop uncomfortable. Another may be a perfectly capable yacht whose crew has less familiarity with the coast and approaches the week as a standard sequence of tourist stops.
That difference rarely appears in listing photos.
The crew, cabin layout, onboard service, yacht condition, water-toy selection, cruising speed, and suitability for your route matter more than polished photography. A yacht that is ideal for a family with children may feel wrong for three couples. A fast motor yacht may make sense for a group prioritizing dinners ashore, while a sailing catamaran may suit travelers who want more time on the water and fewer scheduled stops.
Rosedale Travel helps with:
- Destination and route matching
- Yacht category comparisons
- Crew and service-style considerations
- Cabin configuration advice
- Realistic charter budget guidance
- APA and VAT explanations
- Weather-aware itinerary planning
- Special requests and onboard preferences
- Charter contract guidance
- Support before and during the trip
Clients often begin by asking which available yacht looks best. We usually begin with a different question: how does your group actually want to spend the week?
That answer determines which yachts are worth comparing in the first place.
Star Ocean Yachts: What the Partnerships Mean for Your Charter
Rosedale Travel’s preferred yacht-charter partner is Star Ocean Yachts, a full-service brokerage and management company working across charter yachts, owners, and management relationships rather than offering only one company’s managed fleet.
That matters on the Amalfi Coast because suitable yachts may be positioned around Naples, Castellammare di Stabia, Marina di Stabia, Salerno, or Marina d’Arechi. Availability alone does not tell you whether a yacht is well positioned for your preferred route, whether a delivery fee may apply, or whether its crew and amenities suit your group.
The recommendation may not be the yacht that appears first in an online search. It should be the yacht that delivers the strongest overall match once the route, crew, cabins, operating costs, and group priorities are considered together.
Meet Kirsten Billhardt
Kirsten Billhardt is the owner of Rosedale Travel. Her role is not simply to reserve the yacht a client selects independently. It is to help determine whether the proposed yacht and destination make sense before the group commits to a high-cost charter.
That includes setting realistic expectations, identifying trade-offs, comparing routes, and saying when another destination or type of vacation would be a better use of the client’s budget.
Who an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Is Best For
This charter works particularly well for travelers who:
- Value privacy more than the social atmosphere of a resort
- Want the freedom to adjust each day around weather and mood
- Enjoy alternating between time on the water and time ashore
- Want private-chef meals as well as selected restaurant evenings
- Are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, family milestone, or group occasion
- Want well-known destinations without long passages between every stop
- Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and life aboard
- Understand that the right route may include fewer stops and more time in each place
- Have a realistic budget for the charter fee, APA, VAT, gratuity, and other expenses
The Amalfi Coast is especially effective for a group that wants contrast within the same day. You can have lunch ashore near Positano, spend the afternoon swimming away from town, and return to the yacht for a private dinner without committing the entire day to one activity.
Six to ten guests often make efficient use of the cabin space and charter cost, but that is not a requirement. Couples regularly choose yachts designed for larger groups when they value additional space, a fuller crew, and more onboard amenities.
Who Should Consider Another Destination or Vacation Style?
The Amalfi Coast is not the right charter destination for every traveler.
You should consider another option if:
- You want the lowest possible cost for a week on the water
- You expect every anchorage to feel private in July or August
- You want to visit a different island or landmass every day
- You want long sailing passages to be a major part of the experience
- You need every itinerary stop to operate on a fixed schedule
- Your group wants nightlife ashore every evening
- You prefer a vacation where activities, meals, and logistics are predetermined
- Most of the group is more interested in constant sightseeing than life on the water
Travelers who want longer sailing passages and a broader island-hopping experience may be happier in Greece or Croatia. Those who want predictable resort amenities, several restaurant choices every night, and no weather-related itinerary changes may prefer a luxury resort or land-based Amalfi Coast itinerary.
Peak-season Capri and Positano can be busy both ashore and on the water. Privacy comes from choosing the right anchorages, approaching them at the right time, and allowing the captain to adjust the plan. It does not come automatically from chartering a yacht in this destination.
What an Amalfi Coast Crewed Charter Is Actually Like
A yacht charter does not operate like a cruise ship or a resort.
A typical day may begin with breakfast on deck at anchor, followed by swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, or kayaking. The yacht might then move to a second anchorage, arrange a tender transfer ashore, or remain in place for lunch prepared by the private chef.
Your days can be structured, but they do not have to be scheduled hour by hour. That flexibility is one of the main advantages of a private yacht, but it also requires accepting that the captain may change anchorage or departure time because of wind, swell, traffic, or safety.
Private-chef dining versus restaurants ashore
Most groups want a combination of both.
A private-chef dinner allows the menu, timing, and service to be organized around your group. There is no transfer ashore, reservation time, or need to leave a comfortable anchorage.
Dining in Positano, Capri, Amalfi, or Nerano gives the group a different experience, but it places the evening on the restaurant’s schedule. Tender transfers, table availability, weather, and the yacht’s overnight position all have to be considered.
Trying to dine ashore every evening can work against the privacy and flexibility that led you to charter a yacht. For many groups, two or three carefully selected restaurant evenings create a better week than treating every night as another reservation to manage.
Flexible itinerary versus guaranteed itinerary
The printed route is a planning framework, not a promise that each stop will happen at a fixed time.
The captain’s first responsibility is the safety and comfort of guests, crew, and yacht. A change in sea conditions may make a different anchorage more appropriate, and weather-dependent attractions can close with little notice.
Guests who understand this usually enjoy the flexibility. Guests expecting a cruise-style schedule may find it frustrating.
Yacht Options for the Amalfi Coast
Motor yacht versus sailing yacht or catamaran
A motor yacht is often the most practical choice for groups that want to combine Capri, Positano, Amalfi, restaurant stops, and several anchorages within one week. The distances are relatively short, and the additional speed can preserve more time for swimming or going ashore.
A sailing yacht or catamaran works better when the sailing itself is an important part of the vacation. It is particularly worth considering for a slower itinerary that includes more time in the Bay of Naples and fewer fixed shore stops.
Neither category is automatically better. The decision depends on:
- How much time you want to spend underway
- Whether you value speed or the sailing experience
- Group size and cabin needs
- Outdoor deck-space preferences
- Stability and comfort expectations
- Water-toy priorities
- Overall budget
Fully crewed versus bareboat
Rosedale Travel exclusively arranges fully crewed charters. A professional captain, chef, and crew handle navigation, meals, service, yacht operations, and daily logistics.
This is particularly valuable around narrow anchorages, regulated marine areas, busy summer mooring fields, and tender-dependent stops. A captain familiar with the region can make practical adjustments that a first-time visitor would not know to anticipate.
Experienced sailors specifically seeking a self-skippered bareboat vacation should work with a specialist in that category rather than trying to turn a fully crewed charter into a bareboat experience.
Larger yacht versus smaller yacht
A larger yacht does not necessarily mean a larger group.
It generally provides more cabin space, more separation between guest areas, a larger crew, and a broader amenity selection. Couples may charter yachts designed for eight or ten guests because they want the additional space and service.
A smaller yacht may be the right fit for a first charter, a group of four to six, or travelers who would rather spend more of their budget on dining, activities, and time ashore. The right choice depends on how the group uses the yacht, not only how many guests it can legally accommodate.
Why cabin layout and crew fit matter
Two yachts may sleep eight guests but arrange them very differently. One may have four similar double cabins, while another may have a large primary suite, one double, and two twin cabins.
That distinction matters for couples traveling together, multi-generational families, children, and anyone sensitive to unequal room assignments.
Crew style matters just as much. Some groups want attentive, structured service throughout the day. Others want a quieter crew presence and more informal time together. Matching this correctly can have a greater effect on the experience than choosing between two yachts with similar exterior profiles.
Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Destination Guidance
The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed cultural landscape along the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula. Its value comes from the relationship between the coastline, historic settlements, agricultural terraces, architecture, and centuries of human use rather than scenery alone.
Most charters use Naples, Castellammare di Stabia, Salerno, or nearby marinas as their operational base. The main planning decisions are where to embark, whether to return to the same marina, and how much time to allocate to the most requested towns compared with quieter swimming and anchorage stops.
Naples versus Salerno as a starting point
Naples is the larger international gateway and generally provides broader flight access. It also works naturally for itineraries beginning with Capri, Ischia, Procida, Sorrento, or the Bay of Naples.
Salerno is closer to Amalfi Coast stops such as Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano. A Salerno embarkation can reduce the initial cruising time for a group that wants to reach the southern part of the route quickly.
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport began scheduled operations on July 11, 2024, and its route network has continued to expand, including additional domestic and seasonal European services in 2026. Its schedule remains smaller than Naples, so the yacht route should follow the group’s workable flights rather than assuming Salerno will always be the easier arrival point.
Capri versus Positano
Capri and Positano are not interchangeable stops.
Capri is an island destination with several boat-oriented attractions, including the Faraglioni, Marina Piccola, Marina Grande, and the Blue Grotto. A group that wants swimming, coastal cruising, caves, and a full day involving the yacht may prefer to give Capri more time.
The Blue Grotto is reached in small authorized rowboats through a low entrance. It can close because of wind, swell, or sea conditions, sometimes with little notice, so it should be treated as a weather-dependent possibility rather than a guaranteed itinerary item.
Positano is primarily an ashore experience. Yachts use an offshore mooring field with tender service to the waterfront rather than conventional walk-off marina berths. The local mooring operation can accommodate yachts up to 50 metres and provides tender access to Spiaggia Grande.
A group prioritizing boutiques, restaurants, and an evening ashore may want more time around Positano. A group prioritizing water-based activity may place more emphasis on Capri.
Most charters include both, but they should not automatically receive equal time.
Amalfi and Ravello versus quieter coastal stops
Amalfi provides access to its historic harbour, old town, and the Duomo di Sant’Andrea. Ravello sits above the water and normally requires a planned shore excursion from Amalfi, Maiori, or another practical landing point.
Ravello should not be treated as a quick tender stop. Travel time inland, road conditions, sightseeing time, and the yacht’s onward plan all need to be considered.
Nerano, Praiano, the Fiordo di Furore, Ieranto Bay, and Li Galli provide a different experience. These stops are less about checking off a famous town and more about swimming, lunch, anchorage time, or a slower part of the day.
Li Galli is a privately owned archipelago between Capri and Positano with a history connected to dancers Léonide Massine and Rudolf Nureyev. The usual yacht experience is anchoring or mooring nearby where permitted rather than treating the islands as a public shore excursion.
Ischia and Procida as a Bay of Naples extension
Ischia and Procida can work well at the beginning or end of a Naples-based charter. They offer a more residential and less internationally recognized atmosphere than Capri.
They should be added because the group wants the Bay of Naples experience, not because an itinerary needs more names on it. A standard Amalfi Coast week can be complete without either island.
Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area
The Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area covers approximately 1,539 hectares between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. It uses different protection zones, and anchoring, navigation, access, and motor use are regulated according to the specific area.
Li Galli forms part of the protected area, and local authorities have installed protective buoys and restrictions around sensitive parts of the archipelago. The practical point for guests is that the captain determines where the yacht can anchor, moor, operate its tender, or use motorized equipment.
Rather than stating that every captain automatically holds every local authorization, Rosedale Travel confirms the operating arrangements and permissions applicable to the proposed yacht and route before booking.
Getting to Naples or Salerno
Naples International Airport is the region’s main international gateway. Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport may be more convenient for certain Salerno-based charters when its seasonal schedule works with the group’s departure city.
Travelers arriving through Rome can continue by high-speed rail. Rome to Naples can take just over one hour, while Rome to Salerno services commonly take around one hour and forty minutes, depending on the train selected.
What to Do During an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter
The itinerary should reflect whether your group prioritizes water activities, destination exploration, dining, or onboard downtime. Trying to maximize every category every day generally creates a rushed week.
Time ashore
Possible shore plans include:
- Tendering into Positano for shopping, walking, or dinner
- Visiting Capri’s Piazzetta and Gardens of Augustus
- Going ashore in Amalfi for the cathedral and historic centre
- Taking a half-day excursion from the coast to Ravello
- Planning lunch around Nerano
- Visiting Praiano or the Fiordo di Furore
- Combining an Amalfi stop with the Emerald Grotto
Water and adventure activities
Depending on the yacht, weather, and local restrictions, your week may include:
- Swimming and snorkeling near Li Galli, Nerano, or Ieranto Bay
- Visiting the Blue Grotto when sea conditions allow
- Visiting the Emerald Grotto at Conca dei Marini
- Paddleboarding from the yacht
- Kayaking at calm anchorages
- Using the yacht’s included snorkel equipment
- Using other water toys listed in the yacht’s confirmed specification
Do not assume every yacht carries the same equipment. Seabobs, Jet Skis, inflatables, fishing equipment, diving gear, and e-foils vary significantly by yacht and may be subject to licences, local restrictions, or additional charges.
Onboard dining and downtime
The yacht should not be treated only as transportation between towns. Depending on your priorities, the itinerary can include:
- Private-chef lunches and dinners
- Breakfast at anchor
- Sunset drinks on deck
- Quiet afternoons without a shore excursion
- Private yoga arranged in advance
- Massage or wellness services arranged through an outside provider
- Family time around the yacht’s swimming platform
- Unscheduled time for reading, resting, or swimming
Yoga, massage, and other specialist services should be confirmed in advance and may involve an additional provider fee.
Talk with Rosedale Travel to determine whether a motor yacht, sailing yacht, or catamaran better matches your group’s pace and priorities.
How a Typical Amalfi Coast Charter Route Works
Most itineraries follow one of two structures. The choice is between simpler logistics and additional route variety, not between a basic option and an upgraded one.
Round-trip charter from Naples, Castellammare di Stabia, or Salerno
A round-trip itinerary begins and ends at the same marina.
A Naples-area route might include Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Nerano, Sorrento, and selected Bay of Naples stops before returning to the original base. A Salerno-based loop can focus more heavily on the Amalfi Coast before returning south.
This structure usually works best for first-time charter groups because:
- Flights and transfers use one arrival region
- The yacht returns to its operating base
- Repositioning costs may be avoided
- The route still includes the most requested destinations
- The group can spend more time in fewer places
A round trip is not a compromise. It is often the stronger choice for travelers who want a straightforward week without managing different embarkation and disembarkation cities.
One-way charter between Naples and Salerno
A one-way route starts in one area and ends in the other.
It can make it easier to include smaller coastal stops such as the Fiordo di Furore and Emerald Grotto without repeating the same water. It may also create a more linear sense of progression along the coast.
The trade-offs are:
- Different arrival and departure logistics
- Potential yacht repositioning or delivery costs
- Additional ground-transport planning
- Availability limited to yachts willing to operate the route
- Less flexibility if flights change
The one-way route is worth considering when the added stops matter to your group. It is not automatically better simply because it covers more coastline.
Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Pricing Expectations
Mediterranean yacht charters generally follow a fee-plus-expenses model rather than the more commonly inclusive structure found in parts of the Caribbean.
The advertised charter rate normally covers use of the yacht and the professional crew. It does not represent the final trip cost.
Realistic base charter fee ranges
- Entry level, $15,000 to $25,000 per week: Usually a smaller, older, or more simply equipped crewed yacht or sailing catamaran. The strongest options in this range may appear in shoulder season, and additional crew or comfort packages can apply.
- Mid-range, $30,000 to $75,000 per week: A broader selection of motor yachts and crewed sailing options for approximately six to ten guests, with more space and onboard amenities.
- High luxury, $100,000 and above per week: Larger, newer, or more comprehensively staffed yachts with expanded amenities and more substantial operating costs.
Current charter examples support the need to treat these as broad starting bands rather than fixed package prices. A 91-foot Amalfi-based motor yacht, for example, is advertised from €40,000 to €55,000 per week plus taxes and a 40% APA, while smaller crewed catamarans may begin closer to €15,000 before mandatory crew, comfort, or operating charges.
Understanding the APA
The Advance Provisioning Allowance, or APA, funds the yacht’s running expenses during the charter. It commonly covers:
- Fuel
- Food
- Beverages
- Marina and mooring fees
- Tender fuel
- Local operating costs
- Guest-requested provisions
A practical planning range for Italy is approximately 25% to 40% of the base charter fee. Many Mediterranean quotes fall around 30% to 35%, but fuel-intensive motor yachts or itineraries with expensive marina use may require more.
The captain maintains an account of APA spending. Unused funds are returned after reconciliation, while an overage must be paid before or at the end of the charter.
Italian VAT
Italy’s standard VAT rate is 22%, and Italian yacht-charter quotes commonly apply 22% VAT when the charter embarks in Italian waters. The exact treatment should still be confirmed from the yacht’s contract and quote rather than assumed from a general website estimate.
Rosedale Travel will show the applicable tax as part of the cost breakdown before you commit.

Season and availability
July and August bring the highest demand, warmest conditions, and busiest anchorages around Capri and Positano.
Late May, June, and September can offer:
- A broader choice of anchorages
- Lighter destination crowds
- More moderate temperatures
- Better charter value on certain yachts
- Greater flexibility around restaurant and shore plans
Shoulder season is not automatically inexpensive, particularly for highly requested yachts. It generally provides better value and operating conditions than peak August rather than guaranteeing a low rate.
What Is Usually Included?
The confirmed inclusions depend on the individual yacht, but the supplied charter structure generally includes:
- Use of the yacht
- Professional captain
- Chef and crew
- Crew salaries and standard crew provisions
- Standard onboard equipment
- Paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkel equipment when listed
- Initial route planning
- Yacht and crew matching
- Advisor support through the planning and charter process
The yacht’s final specification should be reviewed before booking. An amenity shown on one charter listing should never be assumed to exist on another.
What Is Usually Extra?
Plan separately for:
- APA, generally 25% to 40% of the base charter fee
- Applicable Italian VAT
- Crew gratuity, customarily around 10% to 15% of the base charter fee and discretionary
- Repositioning or delivery fees
- One-way charter fees
- Premium marina or mooring charges
- Marine-protected-area fees where applicable
- Blue Grotto admission and local rowboat charges
- Restaurant meals ashore
- Private ground transfers
- Private aviation or helicopter arrangements
- Wellness providers or specialist instructors
- Shore excursions
- Concierge requests handled through outside partners
Restaurant reservations, private aviation, helicopter transfers, and certain shore arrangements are not standing in-house Rosedale services. When appropriate, Rosedale can help coordinate them through an outside partner and clearly identify who is responsible for delivering and charging for the service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should we choose a round-trip or one-way Amalfi Coast charter?
A round-trip charter is usually simpler. You arrive and depart through the same region, the yacht returns to its base, and the route can still include Capri, Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello.
A one-way route can make it easier to add the Fiordo di Furore, Emerald Grotto, and other coastal stops without doubling back. It may also involve a repositioning charge and different arrival and departure logistics.
The one-way route makes sense when the additional variety matters more to your group than simplicity.
Can we visit the Blue Grotto whenever we choose?
No. Entry is controlled locally and requires transferring into a small authorized rowboat. The cave can close because of swell, wind, or sea conditions, even on an otherwise sunny day.
It should be included as a possible morning activity rather than treated as a guaranteed appointment.
Do we need a passport?
International visitors need the travel documents required for entry into Italy based on their nationality.
For many visa-exempt non-EU travelers, Schengen stays are limited to 90 days within any 180-day period. The passport must generally remain valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and must have been issued within the previous ten years.
ETIAS is not required yet. As of July 2026, the European Union states that ETIAS is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026, with the exact launch date to be announced. Travelers should verify the requirement again before departure.
Is a motor yacht better than a sailing yacht for this route?
A motor yacht is often the practical fit for groups trying to combine several coastal towns with plenty of anchorage time. A sailing yacht or catamaran suits travelers who want the sailing experience itself to be a central part of the week.
The decision should follow from your pace, group size, cabin needs, and budget rather than from an assumption that one yacht category is always more luxurious.
How far in advance should we book?
For June through August, booking twelve to 24 months ahead provides a wider selection of yachts and crews.
Late May, June, and September may have availability closer to departure, but highly requested yachts can still book early. Groups needing a particular cabin arrangement or highly specific amenities should not rely on last-minute availability.
Is a large yacht unnecessary for two guests?
Not necessarily.
A couple may prefer a larger yacht because of the primary suite, deck space, crew size, stability, or amenities. The question is whether those benefits justify the additional charter fee, APA, VAT, and gratuity for that particular couple.
Are water toys automatically included?
Only the equipment listed in the yacht’s confirmed specification should be considered included.
Paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkel gear are common. Jet Skis, Seabobs, e-foils, diving equipment, fishing gear, and inflatable slides vary and may require extra fees, licences, or operating permissions.
Why use an advisor instead of booking directly?
A yacht listing can show the rate, photographs, cabins, and amenity list. It usually cannot tell you whether the crew’s service style suits your group, whether the cabin allocation will create tension, whether the proposed route is too ambitious, or whether a similarly priced yacht would produce a better overall result.
An advisor helps compare the complete charter outcome, not simply the available inventory.
